I remember the awful day that my parent’s broke into my most private world. For years, I had notebooks after notebooks. Doodles, collages, short poems, sketches and private thoughts I never expected anyone to see. One day I came home to find one of my notebooks on the dinner table and the look on my christian parents face said it all. In a notebook they found some of Marilyn Manson’s lyrics from Antichrist Superstar. Along with some drawings, deep thoughts and wonder. My parent’s freaked. I cant remember what it was that they said to me, everything was muted in my head. I was a middle schooler, a Los Angeles child with words too strong for the age.
Flash forward to today. Marilyn Manson continues to creep into my life.
I never stopped loving him for the artist that he is and I am excited to have him represent one of the most influential brands in my life.
Thank-You, Hedi Slimane for reviving my 90′s angst.
